I think I've done a bad thing. A very very very very very very extremely astronomically bad thing yesterday. D:
You see....
My manager and I have been having little quarrels about me doing my shifts and everything. And as usual I rang her to say that i could do the 10-5 shift on Saturday for her but not the 7:30 till 5 shift as I had to revise a little in the morning.
(And I'm missing a day of an Expo for her so she should be bloody happy that i said i would do the shift)
But yesterday....
Mum wanted to hear the conversation between my manager and me so i put the phone on loudspeaker. As i was talking to her, you could hear the little mumbles and grmbles and then she asked why i couldn't do the 7:30 - 5 shift.
I told her, in a calm voice, that my parents were adament (which they were) that i needed to revise in the morning as i was missing a 'Revision session' (-coughitwasactuallytheAnimeExpoIwasmissingbutshedidn'tneedtoknowthatcough-) with my teacher at school.
This was Obviously not good enough for her. So she threatens to me that she will have to speak to the Area Manager about the situation as 'apparently' I had not been working to my commitments.
There are things i do need to point out here:
1. I have worked all my shifts + extra time except for days which i have BOOKED as holiday and she was fine with.
2. When she changed my shift to much earlier times and longer hours I still did them even though I was annoyed.
3. I don't get the breaks I need. So when everyone else is having a half an hour / an hour lunch break. I'm left with two 15 minute breaks to eat.
I was so pissed off when she told me ans of course so was my mother.
Now here is where it gets Interesting
--------------------------------------------------------
My Mother grabs the phone off me and starts speaking to my manager. She has a massive go at her and they are having a full blown argument with mum asking my Manager what the problem was and pointing out that I had done all the shifts and the extra shifts that I have been asked to do ever since I have worked there.
My manager goes into a blind panic and tries to speak over my Mum. This gets her even more angry (not to mention she had a shit day at work so she didn't need this crap coming from her) and starts pointing out 'Employment Law' to my manager which she had looked up and then asked her questions such as 'What were you inferring when you said you needed to speak to the Area Manager about Georgia?'
By this point I was sitting on the floor laughing as i listened to my manager squirming on the phone.
THEN my manager threatened to put the phone down on my mum because 'she didn't need to discuss this with her.' My mum quickly responded by saying 'Well would you rather discuss it with me on the phone or face to face in the shop?'
Of course my manager panicked again and just started to ramble on about all the things that I wasn't doing.
My mother was so pissed off at this point that she asked my manager for the 'Area Manager's Number' to which my manager responded she didn't need to.
In the end she did.
My mum put the phone down on my manager and then started her rampage on the phone lines.
----------------------------------------------
By this point I was in shock and and absolute awe at my Mum. I love her to bits <3333
She calls the 'Area Manager' and leaves a message saying it is 'Urgent' and puts the phone down. But the phone wars have not finished yet.
She then rings up the Home Office where I work and asked for the 'Regional Manager's Number.' which she got from one of the assistants. She rang him and also left a message on his phone.
Then the wait began.
-----------------------------------------------
About 2 hours later the Area Manager rings back my Mum.
Now I've met the Area Manager and she likes all of the Saturday Girls ;D and I like her cus she's a funny person to be around. Last time I saw her I was in the staff room and we had a full on conversation about how selling your DVD's on Ebay would be better for you in profit then it would handing it over to one of those stores which to the 'Trade In' things.
Anyway,
Mum and her have a little discussion for about half an hour where my mum point out everything from my manager threatening me with talking to her, my breaks and lunch shifts and how my manager is breaking the law because I am working hours I shouldn't be.
And the Area Manager has gone to the Shop TODAY to talk to the manager about all these issues.
Somehow I think I got her into so much trouble.
And to be honest, if i lose my job because of this I couldn't give a shit. And if i don't go into work on Saturday it means
I CAN GO TO THE ANIME EXPO FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND OMMMMGGGGG <333333
And that all happened in one Monday afternoon. I love when things like that happens it just brightens my day (:
There you are just needed to let people know what the hell is going on recently (: <33
LOVE YOU ALL
